What Is a Genocide

If the events in Gaza are defined as genocide, then genocides must also have occurred in the many wars of the Middle East, Africa, the Cold War, the Second World War, and so on.

Besides the events in Gaza, one could also judge as genocide the 500,000 Zaidi victims (whom we call Houthis), Saddam’s repression against the Kurds and Shiites, the victims of ISIS, and even the one million people who died of starvation during the Siege of Leningrad, the 100,000 deaths caused by the bombing of Tokyo, and many, many other cases.
