The Crowd
A crowd is not simply the sum of the individuals who take part in it: each person feels justified and approved by all the others and, for this reason, becomes irresponsible, doing things that he or she would certainly never do alone. This is how lynchings occur, in which participants commit acts they would never carry out individually.
More trivially, I would also say that when boys are together, they are far more likely to harass a girl than when they are alone.
