Who Is a Communist or Fascist

“Communist” can mean Marxist, with all its different currents; communism as a historical movement, with its countless currents; or it can also mean a general ideal of social justice. There are the communisms of Plato, Campanella, and a hundred others; there is also the communism actually implemented by the Incas, and anything else that one might mean by the term.

Similarly, “fascist” can refer to the Italian historical movement, to all analogous movements (which are, in fact, very different from one another), to an eternal fascism (tendencies that have always been present throughout history), or to anything else: for example, Pasolini used to say that consumerism is the true fascism (hmm?). I remember that, when we were young, we jokingly used to say that one had to be a fascist in bed with women.
