Palestinian Refugees

Being a refugee is a temporary condition: within a few years, one either returns home or settles elsewhere. This is what happened to the refugees from Istria, to the Germans from Eastern Europe, to the Greeks from Anatolia, and so on, whereas in the case of the Palestinians, we are now at the third generation.

The problem is that Israel is not willing to be accepted, and so the continued presence of refugees keeps the issue open.

If the 700,000 refugees had settled in other parts of the vast Arab world, there would now be no reason to continue the struggle against Israel.
