Cultures in Israel

 

Israel is a mixture of different cultures, somewhat like the United States, because its people come from different countries and share the cultures of those countries. It is not the case that a European or Arab Jew is fundamentally different, culturally speaking, from a European or an Arab.

On the other hand, no people shares exactly the same culture.

It is nevertheless true that there are majority and minority opinions and mindsets. Here, for example, feminism and acceptance of homosexuality are predominant; in the Arab world, the opposite is generally true. But in each of these two worlds, there is always everything and its opposite.

And certainly, one cannot think of culture as something inherited genetically. In the past, the Middle East was home to great civilizations, while the Germanic peoples were barbarians; today, their descendants have completely reversed that relationship.
