An Anti-Popular Government

 

In a democratic system, if the people want to elect an anti-popular government, they must be able to do so.

Obviously, we must first clarify what is meant by “anti-popular.”

It seems to me that, if a party is supported by a majority of the people, it would make little sense to define it as anti-popular.

The real question is: who decides whether a party is for or against the people?

In communist and fascist dictatorships, this was decided by the single party or by the dictator; in democracies, on the other hand, it is decided by the voters.
