Everyone Is an Idiot

If you believe that the world is full of easily manipulated idiots, then democracy is itself an idiotic political system.

If the level of public support a political party receives is ultimately meaningless, then those who govern should not be elected.

The logical conclusion, therefore, is that democracy should be replaced by other systems—in practice, by a single-party state and its corresponding dictator, as in the communist and fascist regimes of the last century, which claimed to be based on the self-awareness of the people or the nation.
