Everyone complains about it at every crisis, at every conflict; everyone says that we are America’s vassals, that we count for nothing, and so on.

But I believe that the wisest thing — indeed, perhaps the shrewdest — is to try to remain as little involved in conflicts as possible.

After all, what could we actually do, for example, in an attack on Iran? Send military aid to the ayatollahs? Send troops to support the Americans?

To have influence, one must also become involved in the conflict. Isn’t it better to limit ourselves to general calls for moderation and peace?
