The “New Man”

Every civilization and every movement seeks to create a new model of human being, especially through the education of children. The result can never be complete, but we certainly do change. We are not only very different from the ancient Romans (one might think of gladiatorial games), but also from our own fathers and grandfathers (for example, the expectation of a bride’s virginity).

At the same time, man is always man: his fundamental traits cannot change, but can only be expressed in different ways.
