Two States in Palestine

We Westerners all agree on the idea of two states, but in Palestine the problem is different.
Hamas (and Islamic fundamentalism in general) does not accept it: the aim of October 7 was not two states but, on the contrary, to make the recognition of Israel (the Abraham Accords) impossible—an essential prerequisite for two states.
It is true that Jewish fundamentalists (Haredim) believe that all of Palestine belongs to the Jews by divine decree and that it would be sacrilegious to give up even a fragment of it, but they are only a minority. One must also consider that the existence of Israel ultimately depends on Western (American) support, and if its security were guaranteed, they would not then be able to refuse.
