Historicity of Principles

We are inclined to believe that our principles are the true and right ones, and therefore that those who do not share them are barbaric and wicked. Ultimately, this is a natural illusion. Realizing instead that, in the past or in other places, there are different principles helps us understand that it is indeed an illusion, and that such principles correspond to different needs and conditions.
