The Role of Women in Christianity
In Christianity, the most important role among human beings is that of the Madonna (which means “Our Lady”); both male and female saints are venerated equally, and every religious order has a female counterpart (St. Francis and St. Clare).
It is true, however, that—at least in Catholicism—the priestly function is reserved for men, but I do not believe this will remain the case for much longer (in Protestant traditions, women can already access roles equivalent to those of men).
