Reconstitution of Russia

In my opinion, Russia’s greatest aspiration would be to restore the national unity that shattered with the fall of communism, quite unexpectedly and without real reasons—almost, one might say, by chance.

Now, this objective, after the failure of the blitz to change the government in Ukraine, has moved further away; perhaps it will be discussed again in fifty years.

To think now that Russia could even invade Europe seems to me madness.

There are no visible reasons for it: the age of territorial conquests ended a long time ago.

The war in Ukraine arose from the fragmentation of a state, just as happened with the breakup of Yugoslavia.
