Russian Predominance

It is said that Russia wants to regain the predominance it once had over Eastern Europe during the USSR era, but it was communism that held that predominance, of which Russia was the main expression. The interventions in Hungary or Czechoslovakia were motivated not by Russian nationalism but by the cause of communism (though later we may judge it), and were regarded as such throughout the world, both by communists and anti-communists.
