Stock Indexes and Wars

To realize how absurd it is to think that capitalism thrives on wars, it is enough to observe stock market indexes, which objectively reflect the expectations of capitalists (let’s call them that): they plummet when the risk of war increases.
The idea that wars are functional to capitalism is one of those unscientific aspects of Marxism that Popper clearly outlined 80 years ago: when facts contradict a theory, instead of changing the theory, the facts are changed.
