Laws change
according to the prevailing mentality: if in the past the father was the head of
the household (he held parental authority), now there is marital equality (shared
parental authority); if once the occasional infidelity of a wife was considered
more serious than that of a husband, in the 1970s the Constitutional Court
abolished such a distinction.
