Criminals and Terrorists
I always see people arguing about whether the Israelis or Hamas are war criminals.
But let's think more deeply about this concept.
A war crime is a violation of the laws of war, of treaties that no one really observes anymore because, at least since 1940, they are no longer applicable to modern warfare.
I would say that the Arab-Israeli wars are an exception, but they only lasted a few days—more like a blitz than an actual war.
If we consider the bombings of Gaza to be criminal, then we must say the same about the bombings of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Serbia, the Houthis, ISIS, and so on.
If we consider Hamas to be terrorists, then Fidel Castro's guerrillas, the Viet Cong, the Afghan mujahideen, and even our own partisans are also terrorists. All of them violated the laws of war because they fought without uniforms that would make them recognizable.
