The Birth of Science in the West
For a number of reasons that would not be easy to identify, science and technology were created and are still developed within the Western world (with some contributions also from people from other civilizations).
I would also note that almost all of the countless agencies (NGOs) that seek to help those suffering from hunger, war, disease, and every kind of need around the world are Western.
I don't think it's a matter of greater intelligence or humanity, but simply of a different civilization.
