Revisionism
Historians always revise what others have written. There is no ultimate and definitive reconstruction or interpretation of history, just as there isn't in any other field.
We commonly call "revisionism" those works that go against the prevailing thought. However, we can't say a priori which interpretation is truer (assuming a single truth even exists). For example, neo-Bourbon revisionists re-evaluate the Bourbons. We must then examine their arguments, which might be rejected, but we can't say their interpretation is wrong simply because it is revisionist.
