Abortion and Religion
It is not
at all true, as is commonly believed, that religions are more restrictive.
According to them, abortion is permitted up until the soul is infused.
For example, Saint Thomas, following Aristotle, places this moment at the 40th
day; for Muslims, it is between 40 and 120 days, depending on the school of
thought.
I would say that modern science, by discovering that the characteristics of the
unborn child are already fully defined at the moment of conception, could lead
to greater restrictiveness.
But everything is very subjective.
