 Didactic two year project:

Virtual intercultural class with  a real exchange that will take place during the scolastic year 2001-02.

 

                                              AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

 

Two classes of different schools in different countries but of the same scolastic level. They, togheter form a virtual with a website in Internet system. Both students and teachers will communicate through INTERNET and they will meet in their countries afterwards.

AIMS: make a cultural exchange between ITALY and EGYPT:

OBJECTIVES:

·        Give rooms of learning from the real Italian and Egiptian world.  

·        Strengthen the skills in scolastic fields, the logical and    

     critical abilities through the building of learning-courses i.e.      

     (making group-maps, negotiating and sharing the map of the  

     virtual class).

·        Strengthen the abilities of communication and promote the        

     discussion ( e-mail or video-conference).

·        Promote the learning ( reading newspapers, watching films,

     using Internet, conveying own experiences). 

  CONTENTS:

·        Systems of everyday life in the family and in the religious, legal and economic field.

  RESULTS:

 1st year:

·        realize a virtual class and web site for the research-work.

 

2nd year:

·        a real cultural exchange between the two group of students.

 

                               PROGRAM OF THE ACTIVITIES

  1st year:

·        10 meetings (1 hour each) during the school-lessons with the Egyptian mediator talking about the Arabian  way of life from December to February.

·        Realize a virtual class from February to May according to the following plan:

  Working of the groups , organized giving to any couple of groups one of sublevels of the map, communication and sharing with net meeting

  Use of the files “Real class” with subfiles where the projects and the final work are convejed; use of the file: “Virtual class”

  Build, at the end, a file of all works; discussion on the works through e-mail on the web of the “virtual class”; in video-conference define and build the final work.  

 

Stating of purposes, contents, qualificationsof the pupils, work-tools and their charateristics, styles of work and of compiling of final work

  Acquire the basic abilities for e-mail, chat-net meeting for communication and for the sharing of resources

  Creation of files “real classes” that Will meet in the only file of “virtual class”

 TIMES:             from January to May, in classroom or in laboratory, during the

                           school-lessons lasting about 20 hours

                   PLAN OF THE ACTIVITIES

 

2nd Year

·        Intercultural real exchange between two groups of about 15 or 20 pupils with their teachers

·        At the end the 1st scolastic period of the second year the Italian students will go to Egypt as guests and accomodate in hotels similar to the Italian ones , to live cultural  Egjptian ways of life. At the end of the 2nd period of school- year the Egjptian students will come to Naples, as guests, at the “Istituto S.Francesco a Marechiaro” to live cultural Italian ways of life.
